There is a pretty big cliffhanger at the end, so I’m very curious about season 2!Īlthough this might not be the most innovative show out there, I’m not okay with this is charming and relatable. At a party, Dina finds herself torn between Syd and Brad, and Stan asks Syd a question. Memories of her dad send Syd to a dark place. ![]() Creators: Jonathan Entwistle, Christy Hall. Starring: Sophia Lillis, Wyatt Oleff, Kathleen Rose Perkins. Angsty Syd navigates high school awkwardness, family drama and an unrequited crush on her best friend while trying to rein in her budding superpowers. We get many funny moments paired with an absolutely kick-ass soundtrack and a rather grand finale. After Dina ditches her for Brad, Syd spends the afternoon with Stan - and learns theres more to him than she thought. 2020 Maturity Rating: TV-MA 1 Season Comedies. We’ve seen similar things before but Sophia Lillias keeps this boat afloat, so I’m willing to overlook this. They renewed the show it was just while shooting the second season COVID happened and the cost of restarting. I’ve gotten invested soooooo many times only to be let down after 1 season. I hate how neflix is so quick to ditch shows. ![]() The story is interesting enough, although it’s not something super innovative. I felt the same way- loved it and couldn’t understand why they wouldn’t renew it. He is just so much himself and isn’t bending over backwards to fit into someplace he doesn’t actually want to be a part of. ![]() Stan is a giver of zero fucks and I love his attitude. Wyatt Oleff as Stan is one of my favorite parts of this show. There were many moments that reminded me of my own thoughts as a kid and I’m sure many other people out there will be able to relate as well. Sophia Lillis really nailed playing the slightly awkward teen that just doesn’t seem to fit in. Superpowers aside, the main character Syd is very relatable. The series was released on Netflix on February 26, 2020, and received. Impeccably acted, agile, short, and with an explosive ending - in more ways than one - 'I Am Not Okay With This' is a show that really deserves a second. After such a start my expectations were pretty high and they managed to pretty much fulfill them all. The series stars Sophia Lillis, Wyatt Oleff, Sofia Bryant, and Kathleen Rose Perkins. I was sold and beyond delighted to finally binge this show. Then we get a voice over with her saying “Dear diary…” which reminded me of Heathers and then a Kinks song starts playing. Well, we get Sophia Lillis in a bloodstained prom dress which reminded me of Carrie. The show won me over within the first ten seconds.
